Daniel Berrigan House
We are a family committed to ongoing discernment of our response to the Catholic Worker vision of faith and action. The current life of Berrigan House CW includes support and involvement in the Catholic Committee of Appalachia (www.ccappal.org) and related networks of movements for justice and spirituality; academic and popular/grassroots theological writing, publishing, and education; offerings for gatherings for discussion; interfaith encounter and cooperation; experimentation with “Wild Church” liturgies; public witness and protest around regional, national, and global justice issues; support for Appalachian immersion and volunteer groups; growing food; involvement in local music initiatives; openness to lodging for traveling activists and ministers; support for regional progressive Catholic and Catholic Worker communities; and openness to the leadings of the Spirit. We currently do not have a regular publication, but we hope to begin one. We are also in discussion with other Appalachian Catholic Worker communities about launching a regional CW publication.
