SUMMARY:San Antonio CW 40th Anniversary Celebration and CW Gathering
DESCRIPTION:Save the Date:  Thursday afternoon\, October 2nd to Sunday afternoon\, October 5t \n\n\n\nPlease consider joining the San Antonio Catholic Worker Community for our 40th Anniversary and possible National Gathering in Texas at the Dorothy Day House of Hospitality (DDHH) on the campus of Towne Twin Village\, a residential community that provides housing using the Housing First Permanent Supportive Housing (HF-PSH) model. \n\n\n\nWe\, at the SA-CW have never hosted a gathering; more over\, none of us has ever even attended a National Gathering!  Thus\, we are reaching out early to all of you in hopes that there are some seasoned National Gathering folks out there who might want to help us with the programing (topics\, speakers\, panels\, round tables\, etc.)….just suggestions and contact info would greatly help us.  SA-CW will provide\, at no cost to participants\, all of the meals\, hospitality\, and meeting needs.  We also have several lodging options….from “floor space” in two air- conditioned (it’s Texas 😉) meeting rooms or under an outdoor pavilion (connecting the two rooms) and possibly a few beds on campus for those who are physically challenged.  Our current local CW day volunteers\, Board members\, and supporters have also offered to host some of the participants.  \n\n\n\n\nGet latest Updates here

SUMMARY:Midwest CW Faith and Resistance Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Catholic Workers Return to Protest Nuclear Bomb Production in Kansas City \n\n\n\nSAVE THE DATE!   April 24-27\, 2026 \n\n\n\n“It is all very well to say we must go to the source of all strength\, to drink at the living fountain of Christ\, but can we go from that fount of Love to a factory where nerve gas and incendiary bombs are manufactured?” \n\n\n\nDorothy Day\, April 1954 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAt the Midwest Catholic Worker retreat in September\, in consultation with PeaceWorksKC\, the Cherith Brook CW and Jerusalem Farm communities\, it was agreed that we would return to the Kansas City National Security Campus\, (KCNSC) for our annual Spring Resistance gathering. The KCNSC is where 80% of the electronic and mechanical parts for U.S. nuclear weapons are produced\, including the triggering and guidance systems as part of the $2 trillion “Stockpile Stewardship and Management Plan.” \n\n\n\nAbout the time when the CW visited the “campus” in the Spring of 2024\, the U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) had announced that the old B61 bombs deployed at various U.S. bases and several NATO bases in Europe since 1968\, have been replaced with the new improved “more flexible\, more precise and easily deployable” B61-12 bombs. Since then\, the next generation tactical nuclear weapon\, the B-61-13\, up to 24 times as powerful as the bomb dropped on Hiroshima\, has gone into production ahead of schedule. “The B61-13\,” according to the NNSA\, “will provide the President with additional nuclear options against certain harder and large-area military targets.” The new construction at the already sprawling bomb factory to double its size that was disrupted in 2024\, is nearer to completion. \n\n\n\nThe danger of nuclear war has never been so imminent and in this time of global instability\, the Kansas City National “Security” Campus is providing President Trump with “additional nuclear options” that would end life on this planet as we know it. \n\n\n\nJoin us for a weekend of prayer\, education\, discernment\, celebration and mourning in preparation for acts of nonviolent direct action for the sake of life on Monday morning\, April 27. \n\n\n\nFor information to follow \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nContacts: \n\n\n\nHenry Stoever\, PeaceWorksKC\, henrystoever@sbcglobal.net \n\n\n\nMike Miles and Barb Kass\, Anathoth CW Farm\, Luck\, WI\, anathoth@lakeland.ws \n\n\n\nJane Stoever\, PeaceWorksKC\, janepstoever@yahoo.com \n\n\n\nBrian Terrell\, Strangers and Guests CW Farm\, Maloy\, IA\,  brian1956terrell@gmail.com \n\n\n\nAnn Suellentrop\, PeaceWorksKC\, annsuellen@gmail.com \n\n\n\nNasid\, “N.
