St. Peter Claver CW Appeal for Sustaining Contributors

Would you consider becoming a sustaining contributor to the Catholic Worker and/or Our Lady of the Road?

As many of you well know, our community has stretched over these pandemic years to try to ensure that every person in the South Bend area is housed. Since Summer 2020, the Motels4Now Program of Our Lady of the Road has sheltered over 600 people and accompanied over 170 people into permanent housing.

As we have worked to establish that program and ensure its sustainability, we have struggled to meet the monthly financial obligations of Our Lady of the Road and our Catholic Worker household. Below, we have included the Catholic Worker community’s monthly costs. Would you please consider helping on a monthly basis and inviting others in your circle to do so? Together, we can continue practicing the works of mercy, listening for the promptings of God’s Spirit.

As our community has experienced so often over these twenty years, when we make our basic needs known, God does provide, and it is always through each person’s generous response to Jesus’ invitation:

“‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’”

Thank you for considering this request and for your faithful accompaniment on this journey, day by day, over these twenty years. Be assured that we remember you and your intentions in prayer each day and at our weekly Wednesday night Mass at Our Lady of the Road.
