Our Team

Jerry Windley-Daoust is the publisher of the CatholicWorker.org and its weekly newsletter Roundtable. He has been hanging out with Catholic Workers since joining the Winona Catholic Worker in 1993. He is the author of more than two dozen books on prayer, family spirituality, and Catholic Social Teaching. He and his wife live in Winona, Minnesota, with their five children.

Renée Darline Roden is a journalist covering religion, and the editor of Roundtable, CatholicWorker.org's weekly newsletter. Renée is a fellow at Jesuit Media lab and author of the forthcoming Tantur: Seeking Unity in a Divided City. Originally from Minneapolis, Renée has been a part of Catholic Worker communities in New York City and Chicago and now lives at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Worker in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. She blogs at Sweet Unrest.

Ashley McCormick is a member of Mary’s House Catholic Worker community in Birmingham, AL.  She currently lives in Leeds, AL with her husband and four children. She enjoys writing on themes of nature, spirituality, and life in the Deep South. Ashley considers it an honor to steward and develop the online collection of Catholic Worker materials, helping to make them accessible for generations to come. 

Rozella Apel-Hernández is an educator and activist hailing from California. Having grown up in the Beatitude House Catholic Worker, she's since spent time visiting and living in dozens of communities around the country. She currently serves on the National Council of Pax Christi and on the board of Globalize Nonviolence. Rozella is excited to continue connecting with folks from around the movement, hearing and sharing their best stories as the Community Editor, stewarding the community directory and contributing to the Roundtable newsletter.

Monica Welch is a contemporary religious artist in Austin, TX. A life-long pacifist and progressive, she was increasingly a fish out of water among the conservative, culture war-focused Texas Catholic communities who had supported her art from its beginning. After stumbling across Roundtable in 2024, she joined the editorial team to assist with art. The movement holds the solidarity she had been seeking, and motivated her to increasingly highlight Catholic social justice concepts in her own art, connect with CW artists, and share their art.

Brianna Della Valle serves as a volunteer at the St. Peter Claver Catholic Worker community and lives a few houses down with her husband in South Bend, IN. She is blessed with the stewardship of a Catholic Worker Oral History project for CatholicWorker.org, which aims to both preserve the stories and lives of Catholic Worker elders and build a library of inspiration for future generations in the Catholic Worker movement. Brianna works at the University of Notre Dame's Lab for Economic Opportunities and can often be found playing tunes with her loved ones, curling up on the couch to watch a good film, and looking for some good old conversation. 

Teagan Mustone is a student, writer, and Catholic Worker out of Medford, Massachusetts. Teagan’s favorite Dorothy Day quote is “We cannot love God unless we love each other, and to love we must know each other.” The first time she realized this was running the halls of the Bread of Life dinner program with her five siblings; the second time was reading The Long Loneliness in college. Each day, Teagan is reminded of Dorothy’s words when she shares breakfast with guests at Haley House or chats with her friends at MCI-Shirley, a medium-security prison where Teagan is a teaching assistant. Teagan is beyond excited to join the CatholicWorker.org team and continue to work towards a world where it is easier for us to love each other.

Christina Baker is a writer and homeschooling mother living in Lafayette, Louisiana, where she and her family are active in the Catholic Worker of Acadiana community. She is the winner of the inaugural Angelico Poetry Contest, and her essays and poetry have been published in America, The Front Porch Republic, Ekstasis, and Joie de Vivre, among others.
