MVM Catholic Worker Farm

MVM Catholic Worker Farm

MVM Farm, also known as Fellowship Farm, focuses on providing respite for Catholic Workers who need rest and recuperation. Food security through rural market gardening is a central part of our mission.

A stone’s throw from historic Yellow Creek, our farm is ten acres located on the edge of an abandoned 500-acre frack sand and coal mine just outside of Bergholz, Ohio, on the site of what used to be a salvage yard. We have spent the past three years clearing this postage stamp of earth of industrial refuse, recycling what can be recycled, and healing the land from decades of industrial abuse, contamination, and neglect. We are currently working on making the dilapidated house on the property a livable community space that can accommodate more than one or two families at a time and are looking to add a few freestanding tiny houses and cabins to our shelter as resources permit. We are looking for two or three new live-in volunteers to help with the work of restoring the land and the farm, building the market garden, and providing retreat hospitality to other Catholic Workers.

Current needs are:

A new roof
Running water/plumber
Subfloor materials
Building supplies
Gardening tools
Fencing materials
A running truck
