Cherith Brook Catholic Worker House

Description

We are founded on the principles of the works of mercy, but we are an ecumenical community not associated with any particular denomination.

We believe that those closest to the problem have the solutions, and, as such, we are actively advocating for systemic change for those impacted by poverty. We participate with HouseKC, Standup KC, and the Poor People’s Campaign.

What We Do
Founded in 2006, we provide showers, clothing, food, and one-on-one support to our neighbors who are experiencing financial hardship and/or homelessness. Garden; care for chickens; keep bees.

We are open on Tuesdays and Thursdays for Breakfast, Showers, and a Clothing Closet.

We also host an Open Resource Cafe on Wednesdays to share resources, including ID support, government benefits, housing, and case management services.
