MVM Farm Seeks Community Members to Heal the Land, Offer Respite for CWers

miki shiverick at MVM Catholic Worker Farm in Bergholz, Ohio, seeks two to three live-in community members to join her in the work of restoring the 10-acre farm, formerly the site of a salvage yard, and providing retreat hospitality to other Catholic Workers in need of a break. A market garden is also in the works.

There is currently only one community member here and he is planning on applying to religious life with the hopes of beginning in the summer of 2024. We are looking for one or two people to join Wallyhouse, a Catholic Worker
community that welcomes volunteers dedicated to the spiritual and corporal works of
mercy. Wallyhouse is the only CW house of hospitality in Hawaii. It is located in the
former rectory of St Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church, surrounded by public housing and a
number of homeless folks living in tents.

We shut down in 2021 due to Covid and the need to do a rash of renovations to our house but we’re trying to get started again. We love to have your help. The need in San Jose is great as we have a burgeoning homeless population and an ever-increasing wealth gap.
